'New Life'

'New Life' - Today's speed painting is a sunset over railways..based on my journey's out of London. I wanted to capture, in this relatively simple scene, the sense of the sun about to just disappear behind the buildings, that fleeting moment, as the sun is about to go, and colours of the day fading to muted night shades...I love breaking apart light, picking it to pieces and then rebuilding it with my brush, building it up in layers, the intensity growing, to finally finish the painting, as it radiates and glows, almost causing me to squint! :) This is a favourite of mine of late, simple, and effective
